ELLIS HOLMAN

Photo series: Formations

Invited by the Forci Art Foundation in Italy, the photo series 'Formations' is a visual research into the textures and structures of the Italian mountains. Through this series, Holman investigates the dynamic interactions between these natural formations and the elements that shape them.

In 'Formations', Holman uses abstraction and alienation to draw viewers into the work, challenging them to engage with and decipher the images. The series captures our surroundings in a way that demands patience and close observation, encouraging viewers to not only take their time when engaging with the photographs but also to apply the same attentiveness when experiencing these landscapes in person.
